Welcome to George's Dragons! Now in its fifth year, we are looking for more volunteers to help expand this project and make it ever more successful.
What we do...
Once or twice a week, we run activites on the paediatric wards at St George's Hospital. These include workshops, movie nghts and one-to-one play sessions. This all allows children on the wards to have a distraction from the negative and boring hospital environment (we want children to be happy and not scared!) whilst also enabling parents to have a well-deserved break for an hour or two!
What we achieved last year...
1. Bought toys for the playrooms on the paediatric wards.
2. Designed and provided uniforms for volunteers.
3. Trained core members (team leaders) with the help of play specialists at the hopsital.
4. Team leaders helped to train new members, and will continue to do so.
5. Created teams to go onto the wards.
